T.I., the acclaimed rapper and multifaceted entrepreneur, has recently ventured into a new philanthropic endeavor. This time, he’s helping to provide more Atlanta families with affordable housing options through his first apartment development.
The Ribbon Cutting Event
On Tuesday, November 14, the rapper was spotted at the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Intrada Building, located on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway. This event marked his first foray into the realm of affordable housing, an initiative that resonates deeply with the artist.
“This is more than a business venture, it’s a personal mission,” says T.I.
Joined by Atlanta’s mayor, Andrew Dickens, the event not only marked a significant milestone for T.I. but also for the city. Mayor Dickens highlighted that T.I. has always been vocal about his love for the neighborhood. Interestingly, the building that now stands as a beacon of hope for many families was once a shopping center frequented by T.I.’s grandmother.
“Don’t tell anybody, but I got caught stealing from this Kmart,” T.I. confessed at the ceremony.
A Community Investment
This journey began with T.I.’s company, Briarhouse Holdings, partnering with the city and the Vecino group for this project. An inspiration from Killer Mike spurred him to undertake this development. As an artist who wears many hats, T.I. will soon be sharing his wisdom at a panel at ComplexCon on Sunday, November 19. He’ll discuss his journey in putting together an independent movie.

Earlier this month, T.I. brought smiles on The Baller Alert Show by playfully teasing his son’s new teeth. True to his nature, he managed to add a touch of humor to an otherwise ordinary conversation.
