Grady “BabiesNFools” | Rap Nerd Reviews

Posted on September 19, 2023

Rap is an acronym for “rhythm and poetry”. Up and coming hip hop artist Grady embodies this definition with his soulful poetic and heartfelt lyrics. I believe in many ways we are all connected consciously, so when the words of an artist comes from deep within their soul, it’s inevitable that it will connect with someone’s spirit. With his latest EP “BabiesNFools” , Grady brings us into his world of real emotions.

Grady “BabiesNFools” | Rap Nerd Review

With just 5 tracks and a total run time of less that 20 minutes, this is a very digestible listen. The overall production is great. The mixing and mastering is on point and the soulful beats put me in a meditative state while listening. The message is consistent, a lot of self reflection, a few regrets, but an understanding that we must keep pushing for greatness even when there’s darkness all around. Track 1, “In My Head” gives us some of his most vulnerable thoughts with bars about how he should show his mother more love more often. Understanding that time is borrowed, and when it’s gone it’s gone, so cherish every minute.

“If love and peace is what we need then why are we so anti? …/ A broken soul can inspire minds….guilty as I stand”

Grady- “In My Head“

Track 2 is one of my favorites, “Bright“. the ambient boom bap beat caught my attention quickly. Grady’s tone and passionate voice along with how vividly he paints pictures reminds me of Rick Ross. On this one he talks about some losses he took, and how he may need therapy. On song 3 “Full Circle“, he poses deep questions such as “Are we creatures of habit, or victims of our habitat”? The album concludes with the last two tracks “Sentiments Sincere” and “Old Friends” which both feature Jinx. These two pair well trading fire verses back and forth effortlessly. both amazing tracks.

Overall this EP is a great listen and should not be overlooked! Pain surely creates the best art, and Grady proves that to be true with this latest contribution to the hip hop culture. BabiesNFools should not be overlooked y’all, this is one of them ones I promise! Don’t just take my word for it though, go listen to the music and support this king.
