South Carolina rapper Chase Martin has built a reputation for being a standup lyricist. It doesn’t take long for this to sink in on this track, as the first verse details the struggles he is facing in a raw, and poetic manner. I love how he zooms out on his issues and begins to look at what’s going on in the U.S.A. and how he eventually brings it back to how these issues might impact his future. This is honestly top-tier lyricism that fans of boombap and conscious rap are bound to be appeased by.
