Get ready to dive back into the depths of the ocean because Aquaman is returning to the big screen in an epic new adventure! DC fans, brace yourselves for “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.” The recently released trailer has sent waves of excitement through the fanbase. And rightly so because it is incredible.
The Amazing Aquaman
Aquaman is one of the titular characters in DC Comics, introduced in 1941, and one of the integral members of the Justice League. The 2018 cinematic portrayal, starring Jason Momoa, was a smash hit, earning critical acclaim and raking in billions worldwide. It was an adventure that had fans’ mouths watering for a morsel more of the story.
The 2018 feature solidified Aquaman’s place in the DC film universe and soared to become the highest-grossing DC film of all time. As Deadline notes, “Its final gross was $1.1 billion worldwide, making the film the highest global-grossing Warners-DC title ever, surpassing Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises” ($1.08B). The movie also became the second highest-grossing film worldwide for Warner Bros after “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2″ ($1.3B).”
Talk about impressive.

In the high-energy cinematic marvel, we witnessed the rise of Arthur Curry, the half-human, half-god heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. He stepped into the role of peacemaker between the ocean’s denizens and the surface dweller.
The conflict only intensified, leading to an intense standoff against the menacing Black Manta. But although Manta wanted all the smoke, he wasn’t quite ready. Ultimately, he had no choice but to bow out. But as villains often do, Black Manta retreated to regroup, leaving the conflict far from over.

In “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” Black Manta is back with a vengeance. He has a mission and is strategically prepared with a weapon in his arsenal that is a game changer. “He will stop at nothing to take down Aquaman. And he is more formidable than ever wielding the mythic Black Trident.”
Arthur Curry knows he needs to muster every ounce of his strength to defeat this formidable foe. To do so, he faces a tough decision: seeking the help of his half-brother and former enemy, Orm, the exiled king of Atlantis. Their strained relationship makes this alliance a long shot, but the fate of the ocean and the surface world hangs in the balance. And at the end of the day, blood is blood.
Stellar Cast And Promising Franchise Future

If the premise is not enough to elicit excitement, the cast will. Jason Momoa reprises his role as the charismatic Aquaman, while Patrick Wilson returns as Orm, Amber Heard as the enigmatic Mera, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as the menacing Black Manta, and Nicole Kidman as Atlanna. That is golden news.
Indeed, one can’t go wrong when the chemistry is strong. However, this is only the icing on the cake. Adding to the anticipation is the return of director James Wan, the visionary filmmaker who brought the underwater world of Atlantis to life in stunning fashion. As a bit of good news, as James Wan told EW in a recent interview,
“As for the future of the franchise, the second movie nicely sets up a potential third film, should audiences demand it.”
